Goodbye Kindergarten, Hello First Grade!

Where has the school year gone? Our little kindergartener is now an official first grader! Natalie had a great first year experience at Weinberg this year, we were all very happy with the school, her teacher and the principal. She made lots of new friends and did very well academically and socially. Her teacher even brought a tear to my eye at conference time by saying how Natalie is such a great friend to all the kids in the class. She is always including all the kids and not one to leave anyone out, she asked us what we've done to make her so mindful of others and their feelings and that she'd like us to share it with all the parents of her students. WOW, aren't those some awesome words to hear at your kid's school conference? She has continued to shine this year and made us so proud. Her end of the school year was a blast, from a huge all kindergarten water day to a special kindergarten celebration on the last day of school. We had some tears on the last day (mostly mom, of course) with leaving a wonderful, dynamic, caring and compassionate teacher, to the realization that our "baby girl" is growing up and there's no stopping it. But since that last day the tears have dried up and we're ready to hit first grade full speed, as long as we can have a few weeks of fun and relaxation first please!
